This is a fantastic condition German soldiers M35 steel helmet captured and re used by French resistance fighter with black and red stripe overpainted on it by the fighter themselves.The helmet is not relic with only some very light surface rust in places with no rust holes or damage and is lovely and solid not braking up or falling apart.The helmet still has most of its original green paintwork with decal which has been over painted with the stripes.On the inside of the helmet it has maker markings and stamps clear to see and has a complete liner and the ring is totally complete and still has all of its leather liner still attached and its nice black colour it also has its chin strap holders but no chin strap. The helmet still retains most of its original colours and has been very well cleaned and as is a very rare one and perfect for display or any collection.The helmet was bought at a fair in Normandy during the anniversary celebrations in the early 2000’s.The helmet was used in the local area during the war by a resistance fighter in the battles of 1944 against the German Army.The helmet comes with 2xA5 laminated information sheets with pictures.
