This is a very rare to find a pair of aluminium airframe sections and a internal engine part.The aluminium made airframe parts which have very little paintwork left the engine part mag allow and steel made and have corroded and rusted laying around on the forest floor for many years they do still retain some of there original colours but not much they have ripped and bent by the impact of the crash they are in nice solid condition the part have been very nicely cleaned and are perfect for display or any collection the parts are 5-9 inches long. The parts which are very hard to find from this particular aircraft as there were not that many made and Finland only had 7 of them.The part is from Finnish air force Junkers W 34 number LLv 16 JU-126 which was shot down by a Russian fighter on the 24th December 1939 and crashed at Kelloselkä,Salla in Finland.The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with crash site pictures of what it looks like now.The parts have come from a private collection which the items were collected many years ago directly from the crash sites he visited and found including surface finds or some aircraft that were dug out and recovered all these parts now available for the first time.
At 12:30pm on the 24 December 1939 the Junkers K.43 JU-126 of LLv 16 was shot down in the Märkäjärvi/Salla area by kapitan Sokol of 1./145 IAP of the Russian airforce. The Junker had been on a reconnaissance mission between Rovaniemi and Salla and the pilot vääpeli Kauko Hyytiänien managed to parachute but luutnantti Erkki Alanen (observer), alikersantti Paavo Kaurto (gunner) and mechanic Mikko Majuri were killed. At this time, this aircraft was the sole Finnish aircraft in the area. The pilot Kauko Hyytiäinen who managed to bail out from the burning aircraft he survived the very cold night and was found by a Finnish ski patrol the next day. The wreckage and bodies of the remaining crew were recovered in june 1940.
