This is a nice unusual find a German metal carry case for transporting 3.7 cm Flak 18 anti-aircraft gun shells. The box does have some of its original green paintwork which is clear to see but has no maker markings or paper labels. The hinge is not broken the lid does not open and close and does not lock and has its carry handle on the inside it is missing its internal racking but is in good condition overall in nice condition but with some rust holes and damage as well mostly on one side but nothing to bad overall it has been nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. This case carried shells for the standard Flak 18/36/37/43 anti-aircraft gun the case itself is nearly identical to the German WWII M24 Stick Grenade Case, however the internal rack is different but these boxes were not made in massive numbers compared to the stick grenade version so a rare box to get hold off.The carry case was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield. The carry case comes with a A5 laminated information card.
