    This is a very rare find from the battlefield a German maxim mg08 machine gun complete barrel which has bent but nice relic condition The barrel is in relic but solid condition it is very pitted all over but has been very well cleaned it is full of mud and dirt from the recovery it is in very good condition for relic it is perfect for display or any collection and a cracking rare find from the battlefield especially in this good a condition it is de activated by condition thorough as it is a relic and overall pitted and rusty but with a nice clean finish. The barrel was recovered in 2014 from the old German trench line and bunker at La Boisselle in the field opposite where the Lochnagar mine crater is today on the information card there is photo of the trench line as it looks today which shows the exact location where the barrel was found it was recovered during work being carried out right on top of the old German trench line and underground bunker as it was on the 1st July 1916 during battle of the Somme the famous attack on that day. The rifle comes with 2xA5 laminated information card with map of the exact location it was found and is one of the rarer relics i have ever had from the Somme battlefield.
