    This is a German Wehrmacht 1st to 4th grade shooter Shield  for Army Marksman’s Lanyard with the remains of the lanyard cord still attached which has mashed up and attached to the back of the badge it looks like it might be partly burnt.  The badge is in nice relic but solid condition the eagle and swastika marking is clear to see the badge is nearly complete it still has its pins on the back and has been very well cleaned and is a rare find from the battlefield. The badge was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle in the Falaise Pocket, Normandy in France 1944. A nice rare relic from the famous Normandy battlefield.
