    This is a very rare box to find a green painted with lovely black stamped markings a British army 303 Vickers machine gun box for spare parts and tools, mark 3.The box is in very nice condition the wood still retains all of its original green finish the wood is in fantastic condition is still very solid not braking up or falling apart and no wood worm either but does have one panel missing from the lid but still rare to find this nicely preserved the box has all of its original war time stamped black ink markings and maker marked and dated 1944 on the side and complete with its leather carry strap. The box has both hinges that work and in nice condition and the locks are missing do not work.On the inside it is very nice condition used box with all its internal racking this is a very nice example of this very rare to find storage crate and comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with all the information of the box's contents.The box was properly used by the British 30th Corps as it was found on a Farm with many fuel cans in the Village of Clecy near Falaise in Normandy from the battles around the Falaise Pocket in August 1944.
