    This is a fantastic clean condition aluminium airframe structure section which has all of its clear to see original colours and some of its original white paintwork remains part of the planes insignia possibly the large stripe on the fuselage .The panel has ripped and bent by the impact of the crash it is in nice solid condition the part has been very nicely cleaned and in near perfect condition for a crash relic that is perfect for display or any collection the part is 15 inches long and 4 inches wide.The part is from German night fighter Me 410 serial number 420037 of 6./ ZG 26 was hit by fire from the American bombers over the island of Fyn and the two-man crew bailed out at 12:10 – 12:15 hours on the night of 20th February April 1944 in Denmark.

    The Me 410 crashed in a field belonging to Farmer Christiansen about 50 metres south of the Alleskoven forest east of Faaborg. It was a 100 % loss.
    The dead body of Unteroffizier Fritz Schröter was taken to Esbjerg where he was laid to rest in Fovrfelt cemetery on 25/2 1944.

    Pilot Oberfeldwebel Siegfried Haase who was slightly injured in the head landed safely east of Faaborg and was taken to the Sct. Joseph hospital in Fredericia for treatment. The parachute of Wop Unteroffizier Fritz Schröter did not deploy and he fell to his death. He hit the frozen ground in a field belonging to “Helenelund” east of Faaborg farm and was found there with his chute still packed by a number of Danes who had seen 

    The Messerschmitt Me 410 Hornisse ("Hornet"), operated by ZG 26 (Zerstörergeschwader 26), was a German heavy fighter and Schnellbomber (fast bomber) used. Specifically, by 6./ZG 26 was one of the units equipped with the Me 410, primarily engaging in operations against unescorted Allied bomber formations, particularly in the Defence of the Reich campaign.
