    This is a German made Wooden ammunition crate complete with its 3 brass shell cases still inside these are nice cleaned semi- relic ones. The box is in nice condition the wood still retains some of its original black paintwork finish it is missing its lid removed when it was used there are splits in the wood nothing to bad the wood is still very solid not braking up or falling apart it did have wood worm at some point but has been treated either still unusual to find this nicely preserved  box that was used in the heat of battle still in the same location it was used all those years ago. Inside this crate are 3 recovered German used Russian brass shell cases which were used in this crate some of them still have maker markings and dated 1936-1941 that can be seen fairly clearly also with ink stamps. The cases are in lovely condition for recovered brass cases they  have been very nicely cleaned and are perfect to display or any collection. This wooden crate and shells are German made Wooden ammunition crate with 3 brass shell cases which were all used on a PAK [36]r anti-tank gun which was the captured Russian 76.2mm ZIS 3 gun in German service. These would have been used by soldiers in the 9th Army Wehrmacht or the 11th SS Panzer grenadier Division Nordland who defended city of Kostrzyn or Kustrin. This is where the box and cases were found on farm that had been used as a German gun position against the Russian army on the battlefield of late 1944 until early 1945 on the Polish- German border.The box comes with a 2xA5 laminated information cards with pictures of the gun and map.
