This is a very rare steel airframe structure section which has lots of yellow paintwork from the aircraft's insignia and is in lovely clean condition. This part is probably from the fuselage insignia as that is where the yellow paintwork was this is a lovely bit of German bomber the section is 10 inches long and 1 half inches wide and is cut away at each end and is perfect for display or any collection.This airframe insignia section was recovered from German Dornier 17 bomber work number 2798 shot down on 15th November 1940 at 11.55pm by RAF night fighters the bomber crashed at Latton Priory near Harlow. A very nice part from the famous battle of Britain and German Dornier 17 bomber perfect for display and comes with 2x A5 laminated information sheets with crash photo in 1940 and recovery photo in 1984.
Dornier Do17 bomber work number 2798 of 9/KG76. The plane was attacked by RAF night fighters and hit by anti aircraft fire during a raid on London at 11.55pm on the 15th November 1940.
The plane Crashed at Latton Priory Farm, Rye Hill, Harlow. The crew Leutnant .B.Wagner, Feldwebel .R.Grommer, Unteroffizier.W.Hockendorf,Feldwebel A.Haas and Gefreiter F.Heilig all the crew were killed in the crash. The plane of Kampfgeschwader 76) which was based in Cormeilles-en-Vexin in France.
