This is a British high explosive shell fuse a number 9 101 fuse this brass fuse which was fitted to many shells including the famous 18 pounder artillery gun high explosive shells it is in very nice condition it is only lightly damaged on the bottom but it still has most of the screw thread is there. The shell fuse still with pretty much all of its original markings and numbers and the rare bit dated twice once in July 1917 then re stamped October 1917 all perfectly clear to read and has its dirty brass colour with some original colour in places. The fuse has been very well cleaned this fuse has been fired which has ripped of the shell underneath from that but the top is lovely a cracking find which is perfect for display or any collection.This shell fuse was recovered on the Ypres Battlefield in Belgium of 1914-1918.
