This is a very rare to find relic from the famous battle of Arnhem in the Netherlands.This a large Glass framed display a large section of British gray airframe fabric section from a Horsa glider the frame is 12 inches long by 10 half inches wide. This rare to find fabric relic obviously it does have some damage but nothing to much still its lovely gray colour and the fabric still solid and not braking up of crumbling it has dried out quite well after the recovery and a nice size it is perfect for display or in a collection and is a nice mounted display peace in a lovely wooden frame.The fabric section is from a Horsa glider the part was recovered in 1990’s from the site of where British Horsa Gliders landed on landing zone Z' near Wolfheze woods, west-northwest of Arnhem on the 17th September 1944.
The gliders that landed were all part of the 1st Parachute Brigade that were fighting during Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands.
