    This is a rare to find British Lewis gun magazine carry box which has rare to find green camouflage paintwork remains on the inside and outside a small amount of paint on either end it is maker stamped and dated 1917.The box is in good condition relic and the lid still opens and closes also locks but it is missing its leather carry handle and does have some rust holes in the bottom and damage. On the inside it is missing its original racking but still has lots of original green paintwork as well all very clear to see this is a hard to find a box in such nice condition it is nice relic condition it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection.The box came from a private collection on The Somme a very nice item from the famous battlefield of 1916-1918.The box was found in April 2018 during building work on a barn in the Village of Morlancourt used in the battles that took place in early 1918 on the Somme Battlefield during the Kaisers offensive and comes with a A5 laminated information cards.
