    This is a nice condition German 5cm Pak38 anti-tank gun steel shell case.The case is steel made with some of its original brass wash clear to see it is in very nice relic condition it is still very solid it does have a few rust holes but nothing to bad and has a bit of damage around the neck. On the base of the case which has cleaned up very well it still has some of its maker markings it is dated 1944 also the case is complete with its primer which not much of the markings can be seen and on the inside is near perfect condition with its brass colour the rare bit it still has a lot of its original brass colour on the outside but it has discolored a bit as well from being buried it is a bit pitted as well the case has been very well cleaned it is perfect to display or and a rare one for any collection to get such a nice condition 5cm pak 38 case from the battlefield. The shell case is empty and inert and would have been used by the panzer Lehr division it was recovered from a lake East of Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the Battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-45.The shell case comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with pictures and a marked map showing the area where the case was found. 

    The shell case was recovered from a lake which was used as a dump site for battlefield clearance the area where the lake is, was attacked by the German 26th Volksgrenadier Division and elements of the Panzer Lehr Division
